what you'll need:

» firm tofu » potato starch » soy sauce » sake » mirin » sugar » grated garlic » bell pepper » green onion » toppings: chili oil & sesame seeds » cooked rice

Remove excess water

Wrap the tofu in kitchen paper and microwave for 2 minutes at 600W. Leave to cool.

1

Fry vegetables

Cube the bell pepper and diagonally slice the green onion, then fry with oil over a medium heat until lightly browned. Remove from the pan and set aside.

2

Cut tofu

Once the tofu has cooled enough to touch, cut it into large cubes.

3

Coat tofu

Heat the same pan on medium with plenty of oil and mix potato starch, salt and pepper in a tray. Once the pan is hot, coat the tofu with the starch and place it straight in the pan.

4

Add teriyaki sauce

Mix soy sauce, mirin, sake, sugar and grated garlic in a bowl. Once the tofu is browned on all sides, pour the sauce into the pan.

6

Add vegetables

Add the vegetables back in and fry everything together until the teriyaki sauce is thick and glossy.

7

Serve

Divide cooked rice into serving bowls and top with the tofu and vegetables. Garnish with chili oil, chopped green onion and sesame seeds. Enjoy!
