The Ultimate Japanese Teriyaki Chicken
Want to know how to make delicious Japanese teriyaki chicken at home? Made with succulent, skin-on chicken thigh coated in a glossy, sweet and sticky homemade teriyaki glaze, not only does it taste incredible, but it's ready in just 15 minutes!
what you'll need:
» chicken thigh
» potato starch
» soy sauce
» brown sugar
» dashi (or water)
make teriyaki sauce
Mix the soy sauce, mirin, sake, light brown sugar, dashi (or water) and honey in a small bowl.
Coat the chicken with potato starch and place in a cold pan with the skin side down. Turn on medium heat and fry for 7 mins.
Turn the chicken over and remove excess oil with a paper towel.
Add the sauce
Add the teriyaki sauce to the pan and fry until thickened, occasionally basting the sauce over the skin.
