Authentic Japanese Yakisoba
This authentic yakisoba is a Japanese street food classic! Chewy noodles, crispy pork and crunchy vegetables stir fried in a tangy homemade sauce. This traditional dish tastes great and it only takes 15 minutes to make, so what are you waiting for?
what you'll need:
» Chinese style noodles
» pork belly
» pickled ginger
» bonito flakes
» seaweed powder
» oyster sauce
» soy sauce
» Worcestershire sauce
» black pepper
» sesame oil
Mix the oyster sauce, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, sake, sugar, pepper and sesame oil in a small bowl.
Crisp up the noodles
Heat a wok on medium-high and fry the noodles until lightly crispy. Once crisped up, transfer to a plate and set aside for later.
cook the pork
In the same wok, add the pork with a pinch of salt and pepper. Fry until the fat becomes crispy.
Add the vegetables
Add the onion and cabbage to the pan and fry until slightly softened.
Push the meat and vegetables to one side and add the noodles back to the wok.
Pour the sauce over the noodles only and mix until they're evenly coated.
Mix everything together and continue to stir fry for another 1-2 minutes.
Dish up and
Place the yakisoba on serving plates and sprinkle generously with katsuobushi, aonori and benishoga.
